Is It All About The BOOTY?

BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY ROCKIN’ EVERYWHERE.

It’s literally EVERYWHERE. Every time I open my Instagram I see it. When I log onto my Facebook I see a friend posting a twerking video or booty model picture (SN: I usually unfollow them because often its super vulgar lol). Hell I have even seen the nightly news airing fluff pieces informing the common suburban soccer mom how to get that Hollywood plump rump.

Long ago, lets say circa 2000 lol, a curvaceousĀ rump was something that was a well kept secret in BlackĀ and Latino communities for the most part. A big butt was not a physical attribute that many a men from other ethnicities preferred.Ā It was something that a lot of caucasian women actually despised. Now that a big butt has been repackaged and sold to mainstream America as a new discovery everyone wants one. Talent lacking cosmetic surgery advocate reality stars such as Kim K., Iggy Azalea, and Kylie Jenner have taken advantage of the secret, flipped it, and introduced it to middle America.

People are squatting like crazed fools to build a booty. Women are forgoing investing in their 401k’s instead to go all the way to Brazil to get sliced and diced for fat transfer surgeries. There are some people so desperate to increase the size of their tush they are going to strange and seedy hotels allowing only the Lord knows who to inject mysterious solutions into their butts.

THE PRESSURE IS REAL.

It’s not hard to see how so many women feel the pressure to keep up. We all see it every day. Businesses know that its something that a lot of women are dying to do. The fact that there are actual panties with padding stitched into them to give the illusion that women have bigger butts blatantly speaks to the desperation in today’s society that is running rampant. When someoneĀ sees the imagery that a big butt is the way to be viewed as desirable day in and day out for someone who may not be all that comfortable with their physical appearance it can begin to wear on a person. Even for the people who don’t go as far as the surgical route to get instantaneous results, there are a lot of women stressing in the gym about theirĀ derriĆØre or the lack there of.

There are hundreds if not thousands of IG “trainers” selling salt to a slug convincing women that if they do 1000 deadlifts, squats, and lunges that they can grow a butt nearly identical to the one the trainer purchased. LOL. Give it up. Yes you can build muscle but some of the fictitious IG trainers that so many women idolize have such unnatural looking butts that it leads one to question the common sense of the admirers.Ā

Should the value of a woman reside in how “cuffable” her ass is? Or should she find it in who she is?

THE ESSENCE OF A WOMANĀ

Her essence is in her spirit not her body. Despite the fact that society says that a bigger butt holds the power to draw Prince Charming to women and can be the sole key to boosting a woman’s self-esteem, women must see past this. They, we, us must find more value in who we are. We have so much more to offer aside from taking bomb ass IG selfies (although hands down we are killing that category).

We have degrees. We have businesses. We managed households with children and husbands. We are the nucleus to basically every part of life.

As women WEĀ hold the power! So is it all about the booty? Hell no.

So before anyone gets down on themselves that they don’t have an obnoxiously enormous ass just remember that you have the power. Not a designated area of fat on your body.
